Economic Growth in Florida 2012
Jacksonville Business Journal posted an article this week naming Florida among the top states for business climate. Florida is ranked No. 10 in the Top Business Climate for 2012, and tied for No. 6 for the Executive Survey Business Climate Rankings 2012. The Annual business climate rankings are determined by tax burden and the states’ performance in Conway Data’s New Plant Database, which tracks new and expanded business facility activity.
Miami’s economy is growing at a faster rate relative to the rest of the country. This growth is clear as unemployment continues to fall, new businesses are starting up and real -estate sales are thriving. When the economic crisis occurred in 2007-2008, Miami had more than 37,000 new condos downtown and most of them were empty. The Miami Herald reports that today, the occupancy rate in downtown condos is at 94 percent.
Construction and remodeling in Miami has started up again as well. High-rise condo towers are being built in Sunny Isles, William Island, Miami Beach and Mary Brickell Village. The City of Coral Gables reported a 17 percent increase in the number of remodeling permits issued for April 2012 over April 2011.
The time to invest is now as the market is growing. Miami has the ideal geographic location, warm climate year round and beautiful views of the Atlantic. Investments keep pouring in; don’t miss out on a great opportunity! As demand continues to grow, the price will continue to increase.
